Jumar named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™

The 2024 UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™ has officially recognised Jumar among the top-ranked organisations in the Medium category.

The list is made up of employers whose people have told Great Place To Work® UK they work for a place that is inclusive and equitable for all. The 330 companies on the list are committed to ensuring a reasonable balance of women and men across the organisation; removing barriers to women’s career advancement; and creating workplaces where all employees, regardless of gender, can flourish.

At Jumar, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where women thrive. We are proud to report that 95% of women at Jumar feel people are treated fairly regardless of their gender. Our dedication to inclusivity is demonstrated through initiatives like our recent Menopause Panel session. This event, hosted by Angela Croad from Higgs LLP, a trained Menopause Champion, featured colleagues from Jumar and Concept sharing their experiences with menopause, promoting awareness and support within the workplace.

Jumar's family-friendly policies are another cornerstone of our supportive environment. We offer enhanced maternity packages and encourage all team members, not just women, to utilise our flexible working policy. This commitment to work-life balance is reflected in our anonymous Trust Index© survey, where 90% of women at Jumar feel people are encouraged to balance their work and personal lives.

We are incredibly proud that 39% of our team is female, compared to an average of just 26% in tech organisations*. Additionally, 90% of women at Jumar feel they make a difference here, emphasising our inclusive culture and supportive environment.

Our efforts extend beyond our immediate workplace. We recognise the importance of inspiring the next generation of women in tech. As part of this commitment, we support STEM ambassadors who visit schools to discuss career options with young women and girls. We also run programmes that allow young women and girls to visit us and learn more about careers in tech.

Commenting on the recognition, John Antunes, Group CEO at Jumar and Concept said: “We are incredibly proud to be recognised as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™. This accolade reflects our ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and equitable environment where all our employees can thrive. At Jumar, we believe that diversity is a key driver of innovation and success, and we are dedicated to continuing our efforts to support women in tech and beyond.

Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place To Work UK says: “Workplaces are only great if they’re great for all employees. For seven years, the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™ List has been paving the way by tackling discrimination, removing barriers to women’s advancement in their careers, and challenging taboos around subjects like the menopause, and endometriosis. Importantly, each of the companies on the list have been commended by their own female employees through their anonymous feedback that told us their workplace has gone above and beyond to ensure that women employees are treated fairly in terms of recognition, training, and promotion opportunities.”
