Jumar plants more than 500 trees at Heart of England Forest
Jumar took a major step beyond becoming a carbon neutral business by organising a Social Value Day where a team of 16 employees dedicated their time to a major reforestation initiative.
The event, held on Friday 10th November, took place at the Heart of England Forest’s Binton location, close to Stratford-upon-Avon and saw the Jumar team plant 570 trees as part of charitable organisation’s focus on creating a vast and beautiful native woodland in the heart of the country.
It is also a significant part of Jumar’s environmental plan, which has already seen the business become carbon neutral this year, and the additional tree planting now contributes to its ‘carbon negative’ or ‘climate positive’ status.
Sarah Wright, Jumar’s People Director, expressed her enthusiasm about the initiative, saying, “At Jumar, we believe in the power of collective action to make a positive impact. Our Social Value Day is a testament to our commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement. It was a pleasure to see our team come together and actively contribute to the reforestation efforts led by the Heart of England Forest.”
The chilly, but beautifully sunny November day saw the Jumar team, under the guidance of Jonathan Saunders, Volunteer Manager at the Heart of England Forest, plant a wide variety of tree species, contributing to the organisation’s mission to create a sustainable and biodiverse woodland for generations to come.
Jonathan commended Jumar’s dedication, saying “We are incredibly grateful for the support from Jumar and its team. The 570 trees they planted will play a crucial role in our ongoing efforts to restore and enhance the natural environment. Collaborations like these are essential to achieving our ambitious goals, and we are pleased to have partners like Jumar who share our vision for a greener, healthier future.”
Jumar’s Social Value Day exemplifies the company’s commitment to social value and environmental sustainability. By actively participating in initiatives like tree planting, Jumar aims to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the communities it serves, while providing opportunities for mental and physical health improvements for its staff.
