Placing the human aspect in the digital space

Jumar has welcomed Maciej Szmulka, Head of User Centred Design, to lead the growth of the function and strengthen Jumar’s digital transformation services. Maciej joins from Crown Commercial Services and brings a wealth of experience across user experience, accessibility, and transformational change. Having spent the last 15 years focused on building and implementing strategic approaches that drive ease and efficiency for digital service users across Financial Services and Central Government.

Maciej is passionate about shifting the view from the well-known operation of software and move to a more solutions-led humanised approach. This will see the User Centred Design function specialise in user research, performance and engagement, whilst measuring every aspect of how a service operates, helping build further relationships with clients around their user-centred design journey.

Maciej mentions 'User-centred design is a scientific approach, the investigation will always be based on methodology, discovery, prototype, testing and improvement. The goal is to put the human aspect in the digital space, so we can find specific journeys for our users enabling them to navigate around obstacles in digital reality.'

With trends in the market toward making technology and digital interactions more friendly, Maciej believes it’s important to put solutions in place so users can work faster and smarter.
